Why is temperature monitoring of pharmaceutical products important?
Monitoring the storage temperature of pharmaceutical products is an important issue for the pharmaceutical industry. It is essential to keep this type of products at the right temperature to maintain their properties. Poor management of storage temperatures poses many risks for medical products: Product ineffectiveness, toxicity or spoilage. To address this challenge, laboratories, pharmacies and other pharmaceutical storage centers are equipped with real-time temperature monitoring solutions.
Temperature monitoring in vaccines
Vaccines are vital for the prevention of many diseases. Effective solutions are therefore needed to ensure that they are delivered in the right quality. According to estimates by the World Health Organization, around half of the vaccines distributed worldwide are unfortunately wasted.
What makes them such a sensitive cargo?
First and foremost, is the temperature at which vaccines must be stored. This can range from 2-8°C to -80°C (e.g. mRNA vaccines) depending on a specific medicine and its short-term or long-term storage.
Solutions offered by Alfakom for temperature monitoring
Alfakom offers a complete solution for recording and monitoring temperatures at various points in the cold chain. Our customers can adjust the frequency of measurements according to their needs and have the ability to receive notifications immediately via email, mobile notification and SMS in case the temperature exceeds the threshold limits that have been set. In addition, we provide an easy-to-use management environment, where our customers can monitor their measurements in real time and have access to historical temperature data and a variety of customized reports according to their needs.

Temperature Sensors
The temperature sensors of the company ELA Innovation, used by Alfakom, are ideal for meeting the need to monitor the storage temperature of pharmaceutical products.
ELA BLUE PUCK T-PROBE
This sensor with external cable is ideal for extreme industrial environments, such as monitoring the temperature of pharmaceutical products. It offers an extremely wide temperature measurement range (from -80°C to +200°C) and is perfectly suited for the transport and storage of heat-sensitive goods. Due to the wide temperature range it covers, it is the right solution for recording the temperature of vaccines as well as frozen foods.
Door opening control in pharmacy refrigerators
The ideal solution to have door opening control in pharmacy refrigerators is to integrate a Bluetooth door sensor. Robust and compatible with the main GPS trackers on the market, Bluetooth magnetic sensors can be easily integrated into digital solutions. In this way, the risk of incorrect closing is reduced and the necessary temperature is maintained to protect pharmaceutical products.
Magnetic Sensors for Door Opening Control
ELA BLUE PUCK MAG
This wireless sensor is suitable for detecting and controlling the opening and closing of doors. It offers real-time notification in case the door is opened without authorization. It can be used on refrigerator doors with pharmaceutical products. In this way, the risk of incorrect closing is limited in order to ensure the correct preservation of the products stored in the refrigerators.
ELA mAGNET 05
In combination with the sensor, it is necessary to use ELA MAGNET 05, as the sensor uses magnetism to detect when doors are opened. When the sensor is more than 2 cm away from the magnet, the sensor indicates the detection of a door opening.
ID card for individual identification
ELA BLUE LITE ID
An extremely thin card that is suitable for identity verification.
